Before supplying your registration details, please read and accept the terms and conditions below.

Alternatively you can email the team at adviserconnect@canadalife.co.uk.

Terms of use for CLP and the Online Services
CLP is provided jointly by Canada Life Limited, Canada Life International Limited, Canada Life International Institutional Limited and Canada Life International Assurance (Ireland) Designated Activity Company, together defined as "Canada Life". The Online Services include the Online Annuity Quotes, Retirement Quotes and the Investment Planner. The Online Annuity Quotes and the Retirement Quotes are provided by Canada Life Limited. The Investment Planner is provided by Canada Life Limited and Canada Life International Limited.

The use of CLP and the Online Services are each governed by the terms set out below and the terms and conditions of website use for the Canada Life adviser website from which CLP is accessed (together, known as the "Terms"). If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the terms and conditions of website use and the terms set out below, then the terms set out below will prevail. We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without notice by updating this page and your continued access to or use of this site will constitute your acceptance of any such changes. Further, any transactional application you access within CLP may have its own governing terms of use. Acceptance of the Terms, any guidance notes, warnings, and disclaimers is automatic by using the Online Services whether they have been read or not.

Who may use CLP and the Online Services
CLP and the Online Services may only be used for commercial purposes by the following persons:

  1. advisers who are appropriately authorised by the United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority ("FCA") (directly or as an appointed representative) and who hold the relevant permissions, to make investment recommendations or decisions to members of the public, regardless of whether that authorised individual is an employee of an adviser firm or not;
  2. advisers who are authorised or licensed by such other regulatory authority as Canada Life may in its sole discretion deem is appropriate from time to time; or
  3. "exempt professional firms" as defined in the FCA Handbook,

(altogether defined as an "Adviser").

Registration of Advisers under the CLP will be controlled by individuals designated as local administrators (the "Administrators"). Administrators are responsible for controlling Adviser access to the CLP in strict accordance with the user approval process set out within CLP. Administrators have full responsibility for all aspects of security including but not restricted to, suspending use and disabling users.

Purpose of the CLP
CLP is a secure portal facility provided by Canada Life in relation to its products and connected product support services. CLP may only be used by Advisers for assistance with administering and documenting investments in relation to Canada Life products for clients of the Adviser (the "Clients").

The Adviser remains entirely responsible for any advice or recommendations in relation to Canada Life products for any investment decisions made by or for the Client. The information and transactional applications within CLP are not intended to and do not constitute financial or other professional advice in any way whatsoever.

If the information within CLP and the use of CLP relates to the acquisition or possible acquisition of a particular Canada Life product, the Adviser must be familiar with the relevant documentation for that financial product before making any recommendations, providing any advice or taking or refraining from taking any action as a result of the use of CLP.

Adviser Undertakings and Confirmations
You undertake and confirm that you, at all times, come under the definition of an Adviser (as set out above).

You also undertake that no reliance is placed on CLP, its transactional applications, the Online Services or any resulting information or material, in formulating product advice, recommendations or investment management decisions by yourself or the firm you are employed by (if relevant) or the Client.

You must ensure that any Client provided with advice or recommendations or for whom investment decisions are made, is aware that CLP and the Online Services are information and product administration support tools for Canada Life products only.

You undertake that you are registered as a data controller, as defined by the Data Protection Legislation ("Data Controller") or are an employee of a company who is registered as a Data Controller with the relevant data protection authority.

You have or will obtain the necessary consent from your clients before entering data into CLP or the Online Services relating to the Clients ("Client Data") which might contain personal data (as defined by the Data Protection Legislation). You acknowledge that either the FCA authorised firm you are employed by or you (where the Adviser is self-employed) are the Data Controller in relation to any data submitted by you via CLP or the Online Services and you and the firm (where relevant) shall comply with the relevant provisions under the Data Protection Legislation. In general, you agree to comply with the Data Protection Legislation in connection with the use of CLP and the Online Services and maintain all registrations and notifications required by the Data Protection Legislation which are required for the use of CLP and the Online Services.

CLP Security
Where an identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of CLP security procedures is provided or chosen by the Adviser, then it must at all times be treated as confidential and must not be disclosed to any third party. Canada Life reserves the right to disable any identification code or password whether chosen by you or allocated by CLP at any time if in Canada Life's opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of the Terms.

As an authorised user, you are responsible for all use made of CLP under the identification details. In addition, any client management system used as part of your system to facilitate access to CLP must maintain the identification details in a secure manner. As such you should take adequate precautions, ensuring that:

  1. only you are able to access CLP and you comply with all security procedures notified to you from time to time;
  2. all the identification details are kept in a secure place;
  3. you do not disclose any or all of the identification details to any other person except as may be necessary and on a need to know basis only to your system administrator (who may keep a secure record of the same);
  4. you do not save the identification details on to your personal computer or write them down;
  5. you do not leave your personal computer unsecured while you are connected to CLP; and
  6. you do not use CLP from any computer connected to a local area network without first making sure that no-one else will be able to observe or copy any of the identification details or gain access to the portal purporting to be you and that you do not access the portal from an unsecured network.

Where in addition to the security provisions a Unipass certificate is used as part of the security measures to access CLP, you will fully comply with the obligations and responsibilities of the Unipass standards and protocols when accessing CLP.

You undertake that you are appropriately authorised, qualified and experienced to provide retirement income advice.

In relation to the Investment Planner, you undertake you are appropriately authorised, qualified and experienced to provide portfolio advice, recommendations and/or investment management advice (as applicable) and that no reliance is placed on the Investment Planner, or its resulting information or material, in formulating such advice, recommendations or portfolio management decisions.

Any liability resulting from information or material derived from the use of the Online Services in relation to a Client remains the sole responsibility of the Adviser.

You must ensure that any Client provided with advice or recommendations or for whom investment decisions are made, is aware that the Online Services is an information and administration support tool only, and does not form the basis of such advice or recommendations.

The constituent parts of the Online Annuity Quotes include: a quotation system; underwriting system to provide an enhancement to a qualifying client of the Adviser ("Qualifying Client") due to their medical conditions or lifestyle choices; and access to all documentation required to purchase an Annuity Product with Canada Life.

"Personal Examples" quote documents are based on information supplied by the Adviser. The Adviser remains at all times entirely responsible for any advice or recommendations given to the Qualifying Client in respect of the Qualifying Client's retirement planning.

If the "Personal Example" quote is accepted by the Qualifying Client, then the data collected during the quotation process will be used to form part of the policy contract between Canada Life Limited and that client. For the enhanced annuity products, incorrect disclosure in respect of the client's medical conditions or lifestyle choices may result in the pension payment quoted on the "Personal Example" quote being reduced with effect from the commencement of the policy.

Retirement Quotes

Purpose of the Retirement Quotes

Retirement Quotes comprise the various constituent parts which may only be used to obtain "Personal Examples" quote documents (referred to in our Key Features documents) for the following Canada Life products: Pension Investment Plan, Flexible Drawdown Plan or Fixed Term Income Plan (altogether and individually defined as the "Retirement Product"). "Personal Examples" quote documents are based on information supplied by the Adviser. The Adviser remains at all times entirely responsible for any advice or recommendations given to the Qualifying Client in respect of the Qualifying Client's retirement planning.

If the "Personal Example" quote document obtained from the Retirement Quotes is for the purchase or possible purchase of a Retirement Product by a Qualifying Client, then the Adviser must be familiar with the relevant Retirement Product literature before making any recommendations, providing any advice or taking any action in respect of that Qualifying Client.

If the "Personal Example" quote is accepted by the Qualifying Client, then the data collected during the quotation process will be used to form part of the policy contract between Canada Life Limited and that client.

The constituent parts include a client risk profiling facility, an asset allocation tool and a range of fund fact sheets.

Obtaining or attempting to obtain access to, or interfere with any programme or data, attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, translate, disassemble or separate the components of the CLP or the Online Services will not be tolerated and Canada Life reserves all rights to take all necessary protective action.

Whilst the Adviser may use and print a reasonable number of copies of the information or material generated by CLP or the Online Services during the normal course of business, the information or material generated may not otherwise be reproduced, distributed or transmitted to any other person (with the exception of Clients and Qualifying Clients in relation to their own Canada Life products upon which, the Adviser will become responsible for that data as a Data Controller) or incorporated in any other way into another document or other material without Canada Life's prior written permission.

As mentioned above, in some instances, information derived from CLP and the Online Services may render the Adviser, or the FCA authorised firm the Adviser is employed by, a Data Controller (as set out above) and therefore by agreeing to these terms, the Adviser and the FCA authorised firm where relevant, agree to observe the relevant provisions of the applicable Data Protection Legislation with regard to the handling, storing and protection of such data.

Canada Life is the Data Controller in respect of the Client Data once it has been received by CLP. Canada Life shall also be the Data Controller in respect of the Client Data when administering the policies (including the investments) relating to the Canada Life products.
